CarolinaEast Medical Center has been named one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Patient Experience by the Women’s Choice Award. The recognition places CarolinaEast among the top hospitals in its size category, which is determined by the number of beds. The hospital also received high rankings in areas such as Knee and Hip Replacement, Minimally Invasive Surgery, Obstetrics, Orthopedics, Outpatient Experience, and Patient Safety.

The Women’s Choice Award for Patient Experience is a national designation that uses results from the HCAHPS survey along with research on women’s healthcare preferences to identify leading hospitals in each size group.

According to data cited by the organization, most patients are now more involved in their healthcare decisions and expect compassionate care throughout their treatment. A significant portion of consumers—82%—would consider changing providers after a negative experience. Additionally, 86% of women would travel up to 50 miles to access a hospital known for better patient experience.

“By raising your standards to meet the highest expectations—often held by women—you’re giving everyone the best care possible,” said Delia Passi, founder and CEO of the Women’s Choice Award. “This award is more than a badge of honor. It lifts the entire hospital and all service lines by recognizing the exceptional experience you provide—not only for women, but for all patients.”

In addition to being recognized for patient experience, CarolinaEast was also acknowledged as one of America’s Best Hospitals in several clinical categories including Knee and Hip Replacement, Minimally Invasive Surgery, Obstetrics, Orthopedics, Outpatient Experience, and Patient Safety. The medical center ranked within the top 5% nationwide out of nearly 5,000 facilities specifically for outpatient experience.

“We are honored to receive recognition from such a respected ratings organization,” said Michael Smith, President and CEO of CarolinaEast Health System. “These rankings, and the many others we have earned over the years, speak directly to the exceptional work of our 3,000 compassionate healthcare professionals. Their dedication is what truly sets CarolinaEast apart.”
