City of New Bern issued the following announcement on May 2.

Please be aware of a scam call going around impersonating the City of New Bern Utility requesting immediate payment and/or threatening to disconnect your service. We will never contact you and ask for immediate payment. Please do not give out your payment information to anyone contacting you. If you receive a call that seems strange, please hang up and call us at 252.639.2750 to verify it was us.
