City of Washington issued the following announcement on Oct. 10.
We have been notified regarding a scam phone to our utility customers under the guise of City of Washington.
Customers are being told they are going to get a credit/refund and /or a discount on their utilities.
The caller ID shows up as City of Washington but is not our number.
Please do not give any information to the scam callers should you receive this phone call.
These calls are not from the City of Washington.
