Curtis Media Group will hold its first CarolinaEast Foundation Radiothon on November 21, 2025, with support from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBS). The event will be broadcast on Magic 103.3 FM from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., featuring interviews with patients, staff, volunteers, and hospital leaders. The radiothon aims to raise funds for local patient assistance, the SECU Cancer Center at CarolinaEast Medical Center, healthcare education initiatives, and other projects within the CarolinaEast Health System.

During the radiothon, BCBS will match all donations made by listeners. Jared Brinkley, Executive Director of the CarolinaEast Foundation, said: “We are beyond excited for Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina’s sponsorship to raise much needed funds for our healthcare community. Their commitment will affect thousands in our area that the Foundation supports each year. We look forward to sharing with the listening audience how the Foundation supports our community and how others can get involved.”

Listeners interested in contributing can call in during the event to make tax-deductible donations. Joe Peters, Vice President of Curtis Media Group, stated: “The CarolinaEast Foundation serves a critical role in advancing the health and well-being of our community. The upcoming radiothon on Magic 103.3 FM will reach audiences across Eastern North Carolina, ensuring widespread awareness of the Foundation’s mission. The Curtis Media Group is honored to support this important initiative and looks forward to establishing it as a valued annual tradition.”

In 2025 alone, the CarolinaEast Foundation has assisted 950 local patients through its patient assistance program and has provided nursing scholarships and grants to community non-profits. All administrative costs for the foundation are covered by CarolinaEast Health System so that every dollar raised goes directly toward supporting its mission.
