At IBX News, we are committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs. As part of our ongoing efforts to ensure transparency and accountability in public institutions, we have sent a request under the North Carolina Public Records Law, G.S. §132-1., to the Perquimans County Election Department.

The request pertains specifically to the pre-election test reports for voting machines used in the county’s elections. We have asked for these records in an electronic format, preferably as PDF files. The requested fields within these reports include the test date, machine manufacture, machine model number, and machine status (whether it passed or failed).

We believe that as media professionals engaged in disseminating information to the public, we are eligible for a fee waiver for this request.

Should there be any questions regarding our request, we remain open for discussion. Our primary goal remains ensuring that the public is well-informed about local government operations and processes.
