Specifically, out of 113 senior students tested in science, just over twenty percent met college readiness benchmarks (https://www.dpi.nc.gov/). Among juniors taking the same test, roughly fourteen percent were deemed ready (https://www.dpi.nc.gov/).

For reading proficiency as measured by the ACT among seniors in Perquimans County schools last year, about twenty-six percent reached college readiness standards (https://www.dpi.nc.gov/), while among juniors this figure was around twenty-two percent (https://www.dpi.nc.gov/).

Math results showed that fourteen percent of seniors were considered ready for college-level work according to their ACT scores (https://www.dpi.nc.gov/). For juniors taking math on the ACT in Perquimans County schools last year, nearly twenty-five percent achieved scores indicating college readiness (https://www.dpi.nc.gov/).

The library’s programming may provide additional opportunities for enrichment outside regular classroom instruction.
