Cost of college was unchanged for all students at Martin Community College

In-state tuition and fees were unchanged for 2018-19 at Martin Community College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

North Carolina residents paid $1,886 to attend the two-year public institution in both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic years.

Non-resident students would have paid 244.3 percent more than residents this year, or $6,494. Non-resident tuition and fees were unchanged from $6,494 in 2017-18.

About 98 percent of the school's undergraduate population are North Carolina residents. And about 2 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 80 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 28 students received grants or scholarships totaling $158,000 and 10 students took out student loans totaling more than $89,898.

Including all undergraduates (800), 233 students used grants or scholarships totaling $1.1 million.
