City of Elizabeth issued the following announcement on Jul. 28.
This week, a section of the Black Lives Matter art installment on Colonial Avenue is scheduled for repainting in order to repair the damages inflicted shortly after its unveiling. The portion of Colonial Avenue bearing the artwork (100 East Colonial to 300 East Colonial) will be closed beginning Friday, July 30th beginning at 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Monday, August 2nd at 8:00 a.m. Pool and Elliott Streets may still be used for parking, but please remember that when exiting, you will need to back out as you will not be able to pull forward onto Colonial.
