County of Bertie issued the following announcement on Jan. 28.
Here we go again ... Winter weather is expected for parts of the state starting Friday afternoon.
Snow will likely begin across the mountains late Friday afternoon and increase in coverage across the Piedmont and Coastal Plain during the evening and overnight hours (after the Friday PM commute). Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories have been issued for much of western NC with a Winter Storm Watch in effect for northeastern NC.
If you are located in an area that could be impacted, now is the time to prepare.
