County of Craven issued the following announcement on May 12.
Counterfeit pills are fake medications that have different ingredients than the actual medication but they are made to look like the real thing. They may contain no active ingredient, the wrong active ingredient, or have the right ingredient but in an incorrect quantity. Most counterfeit pills resemble oxycodone 30mg pills (M30s), but can also mimic hydrocodone, alprazolam (Xanax), Adderall, and other medications. Counterfeit pills can be extremely dangerous or even deadly. For more information on counterfeit pills, visit https://www.dea.gov/onepill.
