81.3% of Hertford County residents old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 22,010 citizens living in Hertford County in 2021, 81.3% were old enough to vote, equating to 17,890 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 8,897 were male, constituting 49.7%, and 8,993 were female, making up 50.3%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Hertford County during 2021 was higher than the state average, which stands at 77.8%.
