Don Davis highlights quilting group and advocates educational funding

Congressman Don Davis recently utilized his social media platform to share updates and convey messages pertinent to his interests and the communities he represents. In a series of tweets, Davis touched on topics ranging from local community group activities to educational funding issues, as well as a holiday greeting.

On April 11, 2025, Congressman Davis recognized the efforts of a local group, the Heritage Quilters Giving Circle, Inc., based in Warrenton. Davis noted that this group plays a significant role beyond quilting by engaging in activities such as providing scholarships, teaching quilting to fourth graders, and organizing walking tours for the benefit of educators. "The Heritage Quilters Giving Circle, Inc., in Warrenton, is more than just a group of quilters. They are significantly impacting the community, providing scholarships for deserving students, teaching fourth graders how to quilt, and organizing walking tours to support educators."

On April 12, 2025, Davis addressed the challenges faced by Halifax County Schools due to funding cuts from the U.S. Department of Education. The Congressman expressed his commitment to advocating for the restoration of these essential funds. He emphasized the importance of the funds, which are intended for completing two critical science labs and a culinary arts classroom, thus contributing to more effective educational environments.
