FOIA Request Sent to Camden County Election Department Regarding Pre-Election Voting Machine Test Reports on October 30, 2024

FOIA Request to Camden County Election Department Regarding Pre-Election Voting Machine Test Reports on October 30, 2024.

In our continued efforts to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at IBX News have sent a request for records under the North Carolina Public Records Law, G.S. §132-1., to the Camden County Election Department.

Our request specifically pertains to the pre-election test reports of voting machines used in the county's elections. We have asked for these reports in a PDF format with specific fields that include the test date, machine manufacture, machine model number, and machine status (whether it passed or failed).

As a media organization committed to holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public, access to such public records is essential for us. This information will enable us to fulfill our professional responsibilities effectively.

We believe that as media professionals involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we are eligible for a fee waiver. We await a positive response from the Camden County Election Department and will keep our readers updated on any developments.
