COUNTY OF CRAVEN: Planned Water Outage: System Pressure Advisory for Carolina Pines

County of Craven issued the following announcement on Oct. 19.

Craven County Water customers located in Carolina Pines will experience a planned water outage on Wednesday, October 19 from approximately 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. to repair a water main.  The temporary water service shut down will be for the entire Carolina Pines subdivision and repairs will take place on Carolina Pines Boulevard near Dare Drive.  This work will require Craven County Water to issue a precautionary system pressure advisory for affected customers. Once service is restored, samples will be collected and analyzed by a state certified laboratory, at which time the system pressure advisory will be rescinded.  Please direct questions to Craven County Water at 252-636-6615.  For more information what a System Pressure Advisory is and how it works, visit the Craven County Water Department's System Pressure Advisory Frequently Asked Questions Page.

System Pressure Advisory ID # 04-25-055

The water consumers of Craven County Water in the Carolina Pines Subdivision will experience periods of low pressure and outages in the distribution system due to planned water outage to repair a water main on Carolina Pines Boulevard. Periods of low or no pressure in the distribution system increases the potential for back siphonage and introduction of bacteria into the water system. Therefore, when water service is restored, consumers are advised to boil all water for human consumption (including drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation) or use bottled water. Vigorous boiling for one (1) minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water. Water consumers are strongly urged to conserve water whenever possible. This advisory remains in effect until further written notification is issued.
