U.S. Forestry Service Begin Working on Fire Lines | CITY OF HAVELOCK: (havelocknc.us)
City of Havelock issued the following announcement on Jan. 16.
The U.S. Forestry Service will begin working on fire lines, in the area outlined below behind Woodhaven, on Thursday, January 19th.
This project should be completed by Thursday, January 26th.
Fire lines are made by clearing areas of vegetation down to mineral soil to prevent or slow the spread of a fire into residential areas.
Large machinery will be used to clear the vegetation.
